    7. The Adjustment:

    * The Adjustment is simply a gentle, direct movement applied to the part of your spine or extremities, aiming to restore normal alignment, movement and nervous system communication. We use our hands to make the adjustment.

  • There are many factors that contribute to your treatment. How severe your injury or issue is, the previous history of injuries, work and lifestyle, age, weight, gender etc.

All of this will contribute to the amount of treatment/s that is necessary for your spinal health rehabilitation. Expected to see changes within 3-5 visits. After the acute stage has passed we would most likely spread your treatments out as part of your treatment care plan.

As Chiropractors are Primary Health Care Professionals, you will not require a referral to see us.

  • Chiropractors use a technique of correcting vertebral subluxations called an adjustment. An adjustment is a carefully executed manoeuvre that usually results in a joint clicking as a sticky joint is released.

  • As Chiropractors, we are trained in the assessment and adjustment of peripheral joints. Such as shoulders, elbows, ankles, fingers, etc.

Problems with extremities such as pain, pins and needles, and or restriction in movement could possibly be caused by or even have a kinetic chain effect beginning with your back.

It's important to examine the entire spine and always advise your practitioner of additions injuries.

  • Our joints are surrounded by a capsule that contains fluid 'synovial fluid'. This acts as a lubricate for the joints.

What can happen is a build-up of gas nitrogen inside this capsule, which can cause the joint to become restricted in movement.

The ‘cracking’ or ‘popping’ simply means that the built-up nitrogen has escaped the joint capsule causing a cavity that rapidly fills up and causes the ‘pop’ sound that you here.

The ‘cracking’ of your spine doesn’t always mean you have just put your back out, it might mean nothing at all.

Though if your spine ‘cracks’ easily and quite often then this is a sign that there is spinal instability. That is where a Chiropractor can help.

  • Chiropractic and Remedial Massage Therapist are covered by Private Health Insurance.

Private Health Insurance will cover part of the cost and you only need to pay the gap.

How LLLT / cold laser therapy works:
Light can stimulate or inhibit cellular function according to its intensity and the time applied to stimulate repair, resolve inflammation and reduce pain.

In addition, high-intensity single-point lasers can release trigger points and treat acupuncture points instead of needles.

Multiple frequencies of light are delivered through the skin and tissue and are then converted by our cells into vital cellular energy (ATP), which is necessary for the regeneration and repair of the human body without the thermal effects associated with cosmetic and surgical lasers.
